The most notable difference is the lack of horns in all the choruses except for the last two. "Bad" – The original mix was replaced with the 7" Single Mix. I did love "Behind The Mask" off the posthumous album, which was a Victory or Bad outtake, but for that amazing track, there were nine others that were hit and miss.Īnyways, why was the Bad album tampered with so much? I've been a Michael fan since I was a kid in the early 80s and have heard very few of his unreleased "vault" tracks that were good enough to make his classic albums. One thing I have noticed is that with a very few exceptions (like Got The Hots), I've never been too impressed with his unreleased cuts in contrast to what makes the final album. Controversy always hurt MJ, it never helped him like it did Prince and Madonna who were always more "adult" while MJ was a family-friendly entertainer).

Good call on it not making the album (and plus I think it would've been too controversial in 1987. Only 2 more days for me (possibly one if my Amazon shipment shows up sooner). Packaging seems really awesome for how cheap the set is. I love how it has a poster, 2 books, and of course the 3CDs and DVD. There's a nice fold out full page ad in the LA times for this. Not sure if this release was cancelled or delayed. Also, sony music japan no longer has it listed on their site either. Personally Im just getting this for the 6 new songs and the live show, going to be fantastic.Īnyone know whats going on with the 3LP version? Most likely there is probably no need to keep both versions besides interviews unless you care about edits that are a few seconds different. Like the above poster was saying, Fly Away is supposed to have a different ending on this version as compared to the 2001 SE. I think from what I've read (it's out in Europe) is that mostly it is the same as the 2001 SE masters but is slightly different for a few songs, I need to wait till I get my own copy to do a true test. ^Bad does have horns on the SE, I think it is the original that never had horns on it.
